Terms of Service

Last updated 5 November 2026 · Applies to the Chakra mobile app and chakra.deepvalley.in

These terms are the agreement between you and DeepValley Energy for three things that often arrive together: the Chakra app, a paid Chakra plan, and a battery you hold under Battery-as-a-Service. Only the parts that apply to you apply to you — if you use the free app and nothing else, most of this page is not about you.

They are written to be read once, in plain words, by the person actually driving the rickshaw. Where a term has a consequence you would not expect, it is stated rather than buried.

Who you are agreeing with

DeepValley Energy Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in India and operating from Nalanda, Bihar. We repurpose second-life EV battery packs, build the Chakra app and the intelligence behind it, and run the Battery-as-a-Service programme that puts those packs under drivers.

Write to connect@deepvalley.in for anything on this page, including a complaint. We are a small team and that address reaches a person, not a queue.

What Chakra is, and what it is not

Chakra reads your battery and turns it into things worth knowing: how far you can really go, what the day cost you in energy, what is wearing out, and what the road ahead will take out of you. All of it is measurement and inference from your own vehicle’s data.

Every figure Chakra shows you — range above all — is an estimate built from how your battery and your driving have behaved so far. It is a good estimate and it tells you where it came from, but it is not a guarantee of distance, and it is not a safety system. Your battery’s own management system protects the pack; the app watches it and tells you what it sees. Do not treat a range number as a promise you can get home on, and do not operate the app while driving.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number
That number identifies your account. Keep access to it, and keep your handset locked. Anything done from a signed-in app is treated as done by you.
One person, one account
Chakra is for commercial e-rickshaw drivers and owners, and is not for anyone under 18. Do not use someone else’s account or let someone else use yours — the battery readings, trip history and driving score it builds are about a particular person on a particular vehicle, and they stop being worth anything when two people share a login.
You can leave
Delete your account and its data from Settings → Delete account in the app, or from deepvalley.in/account-deletion without installing anything. One condition: if a DeepValley battery is still assigned to you or a BaaS agreement is still running, close that with us first so your deposit can be returned and the pack comes back. The app will say so and tell you who to contact.

Plans and what they cost

Chakra has five plans. The price is a monthly one in Indian rupees, and the server is the only place a price comes from — an amount shown by an app is never what you are charged on.

Free — ₹0
Live battery readings for one vehicle, and a range estimate. No cloud history.
Standard — ₹89 per month
Adds retained history, state of health and the range analytics, for up to two vehicles. No device needed.
Premium — ₹139 per month
Adds the IoT Mini gateway, which captures the battery continuously whether or not your phone is nearby. Up to five vehicles.
Ultimate — ₹299 per month
Adds the Full Frame unit with its own SIM, so the vehicle reports without your phone, and the predictive layer: anomaly detection, remaining useful life, and the in-app assistant.
Ultimate Pro — ₹599 per month
Adds the motor-controller interface and whole-vehicle modelling.

A plan and a device are separate things. Paying for a plan does not buy you the hardware it implies; the Mini and the Full Frame are supplied, fitted and owned under their own arrangement, and we will tell you which applies before anything is fitted. If a plan’s hardware is not on your vehicle, the features that need it cannot work, and the app says so instead of inventing a reading.

How you pay

You pay by UPI, from whichever UPI app is on your phone, into deepvalley@sbi. There is no payment gateway in between and no auto-debit: nothing is ever taken from your account without you sending it.

A payment is granted by a person, not by a tap
UPI cannot confirm itself back to an app. So after you pay you tell us you have, and one of our operators matches the credit on our bank statement before your plan changes. That is usually the same working day. Tapping “I have paid” does not by itself change what you can see.
Renewal is something you do
Each month’s payment is one you choose to make. We do not renew you automatically, and we will not change or end what you have without telling you first.
Refunds
If you pay twice for the same month, pay for a plan whose hardware we cannot supply, or pay us in error, tell us and we will return it. Part of a month you have already used is not refundable. A refund goes back to the UPI account it came from.

Battery-as-a-Service

If you hold a DeepValley battery under BaaS, this section is the part of the agreement that matters most. The specific numbers in your own agreement are the ones that bind; these are the standard ones.

₹117 a day, and the deposit is refundable
The daily fee is ₹117, about ₹3,500 a month. The security deposit is ₹12,000 and it is fully refundable — in the usual case it is covered by the scrap value of the old lead-acid battery you hand over, so nothing leaves your pocket. Charging is unlimited and included; the charger is yours to use at home.
The battery stays ours
You hold it, you use it, you are responsible for it while you have it. You do not own it, cannot sell, pledge or sub-let it, and must not open the pack, bypass the battery management system, or have it serviced by anyone else. It comes back to us when the agreement ends.
Missed days, and what happens then
The agreement expects the vehicle to earn: a floor of ₹200 of computed daily revenue. Miss that floor for three consecutive days and the agreement moves to warning, which is visible to you and to us and means somebody should call. Seven and it is suspended: billing pauses and the battery is software-limited to a low speed, so the rickshaw still moves but will not earn. Fourteen and the agreement can be terminated and the pack recalled. None of those steps is automatic punishment — they are thresholds that start a conversation, and a suspension is lifted as soon as the reason for it is.
Getting your deposit back
Return the battery and the charger in working order, settle anything outstanding, and the ₹12,000 comes back. We may hold back unpaid daily fees and the cost of damage beyond normal use, and we will itemise anything we hold back.

What we can do to a battery remotely

On vehicles with our IoT hardware we can read the battery management system and change its limits over the air — charge and discharge cut-offs, protection thresholds, cell balancing, and the speed limit described above. This exists to protect a pack we own and a driver we are responsible for: a cell going out of balance or a pack running hot is something we can act on before it strands you.

We use it for safety, for protecting the battery, and for the suspension step in a BaaS agreement. We will not use it to make a vehicle unusable without telling you why, and anything we change is recorded.

What we ask of you

Do not tamper with the battery, the BMS or our hardware. Do not try to get at the app’s data for another driver or another vehicle, and do not scrape, reverse-engineer or resell the service. Do not use Chakra for anything illegal, and do not use a DeepValley battery in a vehicle it was not fitted for. If you break this we can suspend or end your access, and where a battery is involved, recall it.

Your data

What Chakra collects, why, who it goes to and how long it is kept is set out in full in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms. The short version: we do not sell your data, there is no advertising in the app, and the measurements that describe a battery stay with that battery because it will be redeployed to someone else.

What we do not promise

We are a small team running real hardware in rural Bihar on a single server. We do not promise the app will always be available, that a vehicle will always be reachable, or that every reading will arrive. How much of your data we can see depends on your plan and the hardware on your vehicle, and the app is built to say what it is missing rather than fill a gap with a default. Features in development may change or be withdrawn.

Liability

We are responsible for doing what we say on this page and in your agreement, and for the battery being fit for the job we put it to.

We are not responsible for losses caused by relying on an estimate as if it were a guarantee — a range figure, a health score, or a prediction — nor for lost earnings, lost data, or losses caused by something outside our control. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited under Indian law. Your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including the right to complain to a consumer forum, are untouched by this page.

Ending it

You can stop using Chakra whenever you like, and delete your account as described above. We can suspend or end your access for non-payment, for tampering, or for use that puts a battery or a person at risk — with notice, except where the risk is immediate. If a BaaS agreement ends, the battery and charger come back to us and your deposit is settled.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update this page and the date at the top. Where a change affects what you pay or what you hold, the app will tell you rather than relying on you noticing.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Patna, Bihar have jurisdiction. Before anything else, write to connect@deepvalley.in — almost everything that has ever gone wrong has been settled by someone reading the message and calling back.
